
James Mackay
James Mackay is an Australian actor who has been working internationally since 2009, when he made his feature film debut in Guillermo del Toro’s “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark”, in a scene opposite Katie Holmes. Other film credits include “The Dressmaker” in which he starred as William Beaumont opposite Kate Winslet and Sarah Snook, Searchlight's “Battle of the Sexes” opposite Emma Stone and Steve Carrell, “Hacksaw Ridge” for Lionsgate opposite Andrew Garfield, and Disney's “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”, among many others. On the television side, James starred as Steven Carrington in the CW smash hit “Dynasty”, now streaming on Netflix. Other TV credits include “The Leftovers” for HBO, “The Tomorrow People” for the CW, and “Savage River” for ABC to name just a few. On stage, he played Danceny in the Sydney Theatre Company’s production of “Les Liaisons Dangereuses”, starring Hugo Weaving; Orlando in the Melbourne Theatre Company’s musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s “As You Like It”; and Irwin in a revival of Alan Bennett’s hit comedy “The History Boys” at the Sydney Opera House Playhouse. James studied at the prestigious West Australian Academy of the Performing Arts, before winning the Heath Ledger Scholarship in 2013. He is currently based in Portugal.
