José Luis Esteban

He is a Spanish actor, playwright, and poet with an extensive career across film, television, and theatre. He has appeared in acclaimed Spanish TV series including Entrevías, The New Years, Cuéntame, La que se avecina, Isabel, Águila Roja, Hospital Central, Siete vidas, and Los hombres de Paco, and starred in Aragón TV’s first original series, El último show (2020), directed by Álex Rodrigo. His recent film credits include Altas capacidades (2025), La virgen roja (2024), Me he vuelto viral (2022), Cuatro latas (2019), and Altamira (2016). In 2024, he won Best Actor at the Simón Awards for El nuevo barrio. As a theatre actor, he has performed in more than 50 productions and received several acting awards. He is also an established playwright and author, with around 20 stage works and several published books. His play Don Quijote somos todos won the 2021 Teatro de Rojas Award for Best Spanish Playwright. He has published two poetry collections, and in 2026 released his first novel, Malaria. In recognition of his artistic career, the University of Zaragoza named him Distinguished Alumnus in 2021.
