Maria Inês Roque (Viana do Castelo, 1990) is an artistic creator and performer. With a degree in Media Studies and a MA in Performative Arts (FCSH | NOVA), Maria Inês bases her work in what it means to be and have a body, the sensorial experience of the world, intimacy processes between bodies and physical transgressions. In theatre she has worked with Mónica Calle (Ensaio para uma Cartografia and Carta, 2018-2024), João Garcia Miguel (pausa, vídeo-installation for Silent City, 2019), João Telmo e Martim Pedroso (douchebags, 2020), Valerie Braddell (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, 2012), Julío Martín da Fonseca (Venenos Indispensáveis, 2010). As the artistic director of Nervo Colectivo she has produced and co-created como se um nervo cosesse todas as partes (video-installation, 2021 | Estufa Fria de Lisboa | Supported by CML) and Sounding Bodies (performance, 2023-2025 | ZDB | Rua das Gaivotas 6 | Supported by DGARTES). In cinema she has worked with Miguel Tavares, Ana-Maria Basto and Patrícia Gomes.
